So, how does it work?

Contact us and we'll arrange for one of our certified fitters to visit and take a template of your horse's back. This service is £195 plus travel.

You send the template  to us.

We'll also send you a questionnaire about you, how you like to ride and your future plans and aspirations for you and your horse. Plus any special requests such as bucking rolls, minimal tooling, strings etc etc

We'll then check all the saddles we have in stock to see if we have a match to your horse's shape, taking into consideration your needs as a rider. 

If you like the saddle we'll send it to a certified saddle fitter in your area who'll bring it to you to assess the fit. This service is £95 plus travel.  If you are happy with the fit you pay us and keep the saddle! 

If we can't match your horse with a saddle we will keep your template and check all new saddles when they come in, or we can send it back to you for you to look for a saddle privately.  Or you can choose to book a consultation with a 'The Western Saddler' certified saddle fitter who can measure your horse for a new saddle.

If we accept it, you send us the saddle.

We check the saddle on arrival to ensure it is fit for purpose. We will return it to you if we feel it is not fit for purpose.

You set the selling price for your saddle.

We will list it on the website and match it to any incoming requests.

We will store it securely and fully insured (at your sale value) until sold or you request it back from us.  If it has not sold in 24 months we reserve the right to return the saddle to you at our expense.

If sold you will receive the sale value, less the commission, within 7 days of the sale.

Cost - £150 for storage, website listing and saddle matching service. 

15% commission charged on saddles over £2,000. 

20% commission on saddles under £2,000. 

We will only accept treed, leather, branded western saddles of good quality.  We reserve the right to refuse any saddle we do not feel is good quality - horse comfort and welfare is our priority.
